Punctuality of Patients and Physicians in an Outpatient Setting: Which Has a Greater Effect on Waiting Time?

Background: Patients’ waiting time for healthcare services is identified as one of the key measurements an effective health system. This factor has important role in patients’ satisfaction well. One that related to punctuality. Objectives: objective this study was assessing effect and physicians’ punctuality on outpatients’ time. Methods: a cross-sectional study. The population outpatients were admitted clinics general non-educational hospital. 3500 samples selected from all clinics. sampling method stratified randomized method. Samples included after taking informed consent. Data gathered by check lists recorded patients work flow at clinic arrival departure each station. Results: About 34% had appointment 98.5% them unpunctual. correlation patient unpunctuality (positive negative) their indicated these variables positive (P<0.001). Assessing also Conclusion: Appointment systems are very useful controlling patient’s will increase By way negative affect more Other findings revealing relation Punctuality providers performance system outpatient settings.
